Goals for This Weeks-

  • Make the smoke not appear till a few seconds in - ✅

  • Fix the Dissipation levels so that the smoke doesn’t disappear as fast- ✅

  • Fix the smoke that rotates around the wheel well to avoid halo - ✅

  • Edit the material of the car to better reflect the real possible materials - ✅

  • Fix the Animation of the car so it reflects that the car has weight - ❌ Will be done In the Summer

  • Add lights to the car head and taillights - ❌ Will be done In the summer

  • Create Skid Marks - ❌ Will be done In the summer

 

Latest Render of the smoke. The car material was edited to be less metallic, but then darkened a bit to still keep the idea of the materials tone.

Final Render

Changes that I have been able to make so far are in regard to start time, getting a fixed render out, and the smoke haloing around the tires in the wheel well. The render can be seen above.

While below is a simple breakdown of the parts included to make the final render.

To Fix the Dissipation, the attribute on the pyro solver was brough down to 0 instead of having anything higher.

Making the smoke appear after a bit in a more believable position relied on a few parameters of the simulation changing. Starting off with animating the clip of the mesh I use to measure the velocity on the given simulation. This is key to start moving a few frames before the start time of the simulation.

Next changing the Start time of the simulation on the tops level allowed for me to confirm what frame the simulation could start on. I was also able to change the amount of Substeps here to stop any banding that had occurred like the haloing of the tires.

Future Goals -

  • Introduce more velocity to push the smoke out while retaining quality

  • Fix the Animation of the car so it reflects that the car has weight

  • Add lights to the car head and taillights

  • Create Skid Marks
